I remember i was like, 9 years old when i first went to desaru. its in JB, and its just a ferry ride away. at that time, i went desaru impian, and it was something like genting's indoor theme park la. but a much smaller scale one.. and it left a very lasting impression on me. now i can still rmb very very clearly..
this time i was quite excited to go again. but there were some hiccups, and my goodness. the hotel is so not good. t first they were supposed to give us a much nicer hotel, in the end changed to an old one. grr. and the toilet ceiling was leaking. in the end changed to another room=/
went to the fruit farm. it was quite big, and got loads of fruits. one type of fruit got sooo many species.
so many types of jambu. water apples. those that we see in singapore are so small. the ones there, some were as big as a grapefruit!! and i learnt some health tips. dragonfruit. if u are suffering from constipation, or cant seem to shit for goodness knows how long, eat a dragonfruit on an empty stomach. the tour guide say 5 mins ltr sure go toilet. who wants to try? =p
and there was a mini zoo!
monkey eating starfruit:)
oooh.. so long nv blog le.. shall psts super long posts. haha. jam blospot. then again, i think blogspot is prepared for ppl like me=p so, here goes..
the bus trip was full of hiccups for me. first, the aircon started dripping on me. and i had to move all the way to the back. luckily there was a spare seat. if not, i really cant imagine what would have happened to me. then the bus broke down and they had to make a detour to ipoh to change bus. so we reached at 7 plus in the morn. actually, this timing is just nice la. so there IS a silver lining under every dark cloud! plus this time i was real tired. just came back from chalet. so i slept like a pig on the bus=p
so i went back to msia, my dad's hometown.. actually, i cant believe tats where my dad grew up.. its super dirty, messy, and there's like, no space at all. my goodness. it took me two trips to adapt.. but i guess, when u are used to this type of environment, it's possible. this time, as it was an impromptu trip, my annoying and irritating aunts are not gg!! so we are on our own!! yes yes yes! it was the best trip in these 3 years! i din know my dad's hometown got so many things to see=p
so the first day, after seeing how my grandma is still as fit as a fiddle, we went for breakfast:) quite heavy- fried kway teow, wanton noodles, kway teow soup and fried dough fritters.
the fried kway teow is quite different from singapore's. its all white, then its all kway teow, no noodles, and there's little succulent prawns too! like the one above=)
the wanton noodles were nice than singapore's too. cuz the noodle is a little more borad, but its not as broad as mee pok. then the noodles suck up the gravy so that its full of flavour! and best is, there is no ketchup=) frankly speaking, i think ketchup spoils the taste of the noodles, so thats why i dun like how some stalls in singapore adds ketchup when i sae i only wan a little chilli=/
next is the fried dough fritters, you tiao:) its shorter than singapore's, but again, much nicer. its very much more crispy, but inside its not too crispy such that once you bite, it flies everywhere la. so yum, breakfast was good!!! =)
our driver, my cousin, was taking his father-in-law to the doctor, so we had to wait for him.. and in the meantime, my cousin introduced me to "My Girl", a popular korean drama. hehe.
its about this girl, who is rather poor, and this rich guy, owner of big hotel, who is looking for his lost cousin.. so they got to know each other, and the guy asks the girl to act as his cousin, cuz she looks so much like his aunt. plus his grandfather was very weak alr, and his last wish is to find the lost grandaughter. who knows, aft she acts as his cousin, she cheers the grandpa up so much that he recovers completely.
and then, the girl starts to like her fake cousin, and after some time, the cousin also starts to like her back, but both refuses to admit cuz cousins can't like each other. even if they admit, their family wun accept. it's a super nice show!!
and there's this suporting character, lee jun ki, he one who acted in wang de nan ren. yeah, he looks so gay there, but he looks super cute here!!! =D haha.
okie. now back to the trip. so my cousin brought us to bukit merah. it's like a water theme park. but it was raining!!! argh. so i couldn go in. but it looked pretty nice from the outside.
looks nice. haha. shall go there if i have a chance. after which we went to taiping.. also not much.. just walked into a shopping center.. and then went for dinner. it was really pouring cats and dogs and we got all wet by the time we reached my aunt's spare house. there was an opera that night, so we went to take a look. there were subtitles by the side too! haha. for ppl like me who really couldn catch what they were saying. even the subtitles were fast! the best part was that they sold food there=p hee. the chicken wings were bbq-ed on the spot, and we ordered cuttlefish kang kong, fried kway teow, and lor bak(in spore, known as ngoh hiang) yum=D
the next day went penang.. it was the first time in duno how many years that i took the ferry! the wind just blow and blow:) quite fun. yeah, and most of the days, i just watched the drama. hehe=p
